St Dominic’s College is a Catholic school in the Blessed Edmund Rice tradition led by Edmund Rice Education Australia. Founded by the Christian Brothers in 1959, the College has a current enrolment of 1000 boys, Years 7–12. The mission of St Dominic's College is to create a caring environment where excellence in Education is evident within the Catholic tradition and the Spirit of Edmund Rice.

The College is looking to appoint a highly motivated, suitably qualified Teacher’s Aide commencing the beginning of Term 2, 2024 or a date to be negotiated with the College Principal.

The position will be 3 to 5 days per week to be negotiated with the College Principal.

The successful applicant will support the College community by working collaboratively in our Diverse Learning Department, having appropriate qualifications and experience in an educational setting.

The successful applicant will be committed to the advancement of student learning and;

  • Will be a Qualified Teacher's Aide or University Student currently studying a teaching degree with the skills and capabilities to support the Diverse Learning Department.
  • Must have a strong commitment and/or appreciation of Catholic values, morals and faith.
  • Will be able to provide students with a positive learning environment, utilising strong communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Will be able to demonstrate a commitment to improving student outcomes.
  • Will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the unique pastoral needs of young men.
  • Will be able to demonstrate a high ICT skillset within a contemporary learning environment.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Must have the capacity to work collegially with an established Diverse Learning team under the guidance of the Diverse Learning Coordinator

Highly desirable criteria:

  • Well developed, interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff, students and parents in enhancing the quality of learning and development of young minds
  • Have a demonstrated ability to work with staff collaboratively in the development of personalised plans
  • Experience in collecting and documenting evidence and data for census information for the NCCD
  • Be able to work independently, including well developed organisational skills and a motivation to complete tasks to a high standard

Support Staff at St Dominic’s College are employed under the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Support Staff – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023 and may attract higher levels of renumeration.
