Redfield College is an independent Catholic boys’ school (Year 2 to Year 12) teaching the Catholic faith with a unique, personalised education program. Located in Dural, northwest of Sydney, the College was founded in 1986 by the PARED Foundation on the principle that parents are the primary educators and that schools exist to offer parents every support.
Redfield College is currently looking to expand our Diverse Learning Team. We have opportunities for suitably qualified Diverse Learning Teachers and Teachers' Aides to join our team in either full time or part time roles.
With a warm and friendly approach, the successful incumbents must be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and employees, and be willing to fulfil responsibilities in accordance with the school’s educational philosophy.
The main responsibilities of these roles include, but are not limited to:
- Work with students on an individual or small group basis under the direction and instruction of the Classroom Teacher.
- Instruct students, using special educational strategies and techniques, to improve sensory-motor and perceptual-motor development, perception, memory, language, cognition, and social and emotional development.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials
- Prepare lesson materials, displays, exhibits, equipment and demonstrations
- Assist in implementing individualised programs designed by the classroom teacher.
- Assist in classroom, physical education and sporting activities.
- Assist with personal care needs.
- Support students with differing levels of needs.
- Communicate any concerns about students, parents to the classroom teacher or Coordinator.
- Ensure a safe environment for students, staff, parents and visitors.
To be successful in these roles, you will need to demonstrate a passion for working with children and preferably, (though not essential) experience in a similar Diverse Learning function. Experience or knowledge of Spalding would be ideal, although training will be provided to suitable candidates.
Personally, you will bring to the role:
- Enthusiasm, energy, initiative, punctuality, reliability and flexibility
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Strong organisational skills
- Understanding of, and support for the Vision, Mission, Values and ethos of the school.
Professionally, you will offer:
- Teachers' Aides - Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent would be an advantage for Teachers Aides.
- Diverse Learning Teacher - Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education
If you are interested in joining Redfield College’s Diverse Learning team, please apply via Seek addressing your application to the Headmaster, Matthew Aldous. Your application should be supported by:
- A short cover letter addressing the selection criteria and stating which role you would like to work in and why.
- An updated CV, confirming your skills, education, qualifications, and work history.
- A list of at least two referees with contact details.
Please note that the successful applicant will be required to maintain a current NSW Working with Children Check and current NESA accreditation (for Teacher role).
