The Role
The College is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant – Food Technologyto commence in Term 3 2024. The role is responsible for supporting the Food Technology Faculty to ensure the smooth running of the teaching programs and practical cooking lessons. This position is full time term time.
To be successful, you will:
- Provide support to the teachers in the delivery of educational programs to students
- Ensure that the kitchens are ready and fully prepared for all practical cooking lessons
- Create, order and receipt all ingredients in preparations for the week’s lessons
- Provide practical support to students during lessons, assist in set up and clean up including storage of unused ingredients
- Assist in the management and purchasing of new equipment, as well as organising repairs
- Manage and maintain the kitchen and storeroom by ensuring that all equipment is accounted for and cleaned at the end of each week
Qualifications
- First Aid Certificate including CPR
- Must have a current Blue Card (Paid)
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment and working knowledge of food safety rules and regulations
- Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent experience, would be advantageous
