Position Title: Teaching Support Staff

Working within our Learning Development and Support team, this role will primarily provide support in Senior School classes at the direction of the classroom teacher.

Key Responsibilities
The applicant we are seeking will have the following qualities and abilities:
- The ability to provide support in the classroom at the direction of the classroom teacher;
- The ability to support students’ learning and development of organisation skills in small group or 1:1 settings, overseen by a classroom teacher;
- An understanding of learning and physical disabilities;
- Flexibility and empathy for student learning needs;
- A willingness to liaise with the classroom teacher regarding the learning needs of the student demonstrated ability to work with students at the appropriate year levels;
- A level of competence with digital technologies;
- A willingness to participate in school excursions and camps as necessary;
- An understanding of record-keeping requirements and a willingness to ensure that all such requirements are met for the student;
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of confidentiality and a professional approach to the role;

Relevant Skills, Knowledge and Experiences
- Qualifications in Education Support (at a minimum).
- Further educational qualifications will be highly regarded.
- A sound knowledge of, or experience in a comparable independent school setting will be highly regarded.
Conditions of Employment
- All teachers will hold current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
- All education Support Staff will have a current Working with Children’s Card (Employee).
- It is expected that all staff will support the Christian ethos of the College.

- A brief cover letter of no more than one page;
- A CV, of no more than 5 pages, documenting all qualifications plus key responsibilities and achievements in previous roles;
- A candidate statement, of no more than 2 pages, which summarises your educational philosophy and experience relevant to the key responsibilities of the role;
- The contact details of three referees, one of whom should be your current line manager.

Selection Process
A preliminary short list of applicants will be prepared, and first round interviews conducted by a panel. Final appointments are made by the Principal or delegate.
