Key Responsibilities:
• Handle and respond to FOI requests and enquiries.
• Maintain the FOI Register and prepare annual FOI returns.
• Assist with reviews and implement changes as recommended by the FOI Commissioner’s Office.
• Manage privacy requests and enquiries.
• Keep the Council’s Privacy Policy and procedures up to date.
• Investigate privacy breaches and complaints and coordinate remedial actions.
• Conduct privacy audits and risk impact assessments for new technologies.
• Develop and deliver training programs on FOI and privacy legislation.
• Provide advice and support to staff on privacy and FOI matters.
• Stay informed about current issues affecting FOI and privacy functions.
• Process subpoenas for corporate documents.
• Assist with document registration and other operational duties as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree in records and information management or a related discipline, or substantial experience in local government records and information management.
• Proven experience in administering FOI and Privacy legislation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing reports and policy documents.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small team and work collaboratively with other departments.
• Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
