The Team Leader at Wings for Care plays a pivotal role in leading and supporting a team of support workers to provide exceptional care and support to clients with disabilities. This position involves supervising the team, coordinating activities, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, fostering a positive team environment, and serving as the first point of contact for the team's needs and support.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of support workers.
- Supervise and monitor team performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss goals, priorities, and challenges
- Be available and responsive to phone calls from both team members and clients, addressing feedback, complaints, and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
Client Care and Support
- Ensure clients receive personalized care and support based on their individual needs and preferences.
- Coordinate with other departments or professionals to address client-specific requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of services provided to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and client satisfaction.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure team adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Keep on top of company policy and procedures and ensure support workers are complying
- Stay up to date with NDIS regulations and provide updates to support workers ensuring compliance
- Conduct regular quality checks and audits to maintain service quality and compliance.
- Address any compliance issues or concerns promptly and appropriately.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and opportunities for professional development within the team.
- Offer training and feedback to help team members grow in their roles
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
- Coordinate training sessions or workshops to enhance team skills and knowledge.
- Support new team members in their onboarding and orientation process
- Conduct supervision for support workers monthly.
Client and Family Engagement:
- Maintain regular communication with clients and their families to gather feedback and address concerns.
- Collaborate with clients and families in developing and reviewing care plans.
- Build positive relationships and trust with clients and their support networks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in the NDIS / disability service provider industry.
- Knowledge of the NDIS / disability support services, including relevant policies and regulations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Proficiency in using computer software and electronic documentation systems.
