What the role looks like The primary purpose of the Assertive OutreachTeam Leader is to provide leadership of The Salvation Army (TSA) Assertive Outreach Homelessness response within the Perth Metropolitan area and into surrounding regions as appropriate by overseeing the daily operations of the Assertive Outreach Support Services operating under WA Homelessness Stream.

This will comprise of the: Assertive Outreach Team (AOT) Street Outreach Service (SOS) Subiaco Engagement and Assessment Team (SEAT) Wanneroo Engagement and Assessment Team (WEAT) In collaboration with the Team Leader Community Outreach, and the Manager of Outreach Support Services, this position will be part of the Outreach Support Services leadership team. Responsibilities include Maintain a collaborative working partnership within the Outreach Support Services leadership team. Engage in recruitment and onboarding of new staff and volunteers.

Supervise and support all staff and volunteers connected to the Assertive Outreach programs. Capability development plan implementation for team, to improve capability and service delivery. Logistics management for all Assertive Outreach Services, including rostering and resource management.

Work closely with Manager Outreach Support Service to identify and influence local strategic priorities and operational planning. Develop and sustain strong networks with relevant community service providers and stakeholders, including attendance of network meetings. Pro-active management and mitigation of both client and service-related risks.

Ensuring the service delivery is person-centred and in line with the Homelessness Model of Care. Front-line service delivery to support overall program operations, which will include assessment, engagement, referrals and case support for individuals and families who are experiencing, or at imminent risk of homelessness. What you will have Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social

Work, Social Welfare, Community Development or related field and relevant experience in a social service environment as specified in the award description. Degree in Social Work or any related field (Desirable.) Relevant experience in a social service environment including experience in supervising staff.

Experience in the provision of outreach services to vulnerable communities is desirable. National Police Record Check Working with Children Check Current Western Australian Driver’s License Current Senior

First Aid Certificate, including CPR Available to work day, afternoon/evenings shifts and an on-call across 7 days per week. Benefits working at The Salvation Army
