About the Role
We are currently hiring a Team leader for Supported Independent Living dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality support and assistance tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
Main Duties / Responsibilities:
Duties will vary according to the participant's support plan but may include:
- Assisting clients to perform important daily activities including home support.
- Facilitating daily personal hygiene and dressing tasks.
- Implementing de-escalation techniques for preventing and defusing behaviors of concern
- Assisting, supporting, and providing support outside the home environment which may include transportation and community access of client.
- Assisting with medication compliance which will include dispensation of prescription medication.
- Implementing strategies for preventing and managing difficult behaviors
- Implementing positive approaches, clear, inclusive, and respectful communication.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of support workers to deliver exceptional services.
- Provide ongoing supervision, training, and development opportunities to enhance team performance and capabilities.
- Coordinate and allocate support workers to clients based on their needs and preferences.
- Ensure compliance with NDIS guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Act as a point of contact for clients and their families to address any inquiries or concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline processes and improve service delivery efficiency.
- Participate in team meetings, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Eligibility criteria for the roles are:
- Have a wonderful attitude and approach that is client focused.
- Full availability including sleepovers and active nights.
- Manual handling skills including hoist and wheelchair.
- High level of digital literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office and ability to use rostering system.
- Proven experience in providing direct support to complex clients who require a high level of care, behavior management and physical assistance to complete daily activities.
- Practical knowledge working with individuals with behaviors of concern as well as experience across both physical and mental disabilities.
- NDIS Orientation Module
- Previous experience of working in similar role.
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Australian Drivers License
