About the Opportunity
Consumer and Business Services is seeking an experienced Team Leader to lead delivery of the day-to-day Financial Operations of one of the most diverse state government organisations in South Australia.
This is a newly created role in an established, experienced and supportive team. The Team Leader, Financial Operations is responsible for overseeing and undertaking the daily operations of the team to ensure that CBS' financial controls are completed accurately, within agreed timeframes and in accordance with policies and procedures.
The Team Leader is also expected to take a lead role in stakeholder engagement to identify and implement business process improvements or projects which streamline CBS' Financial Operations.
The Team Leader, Financial Operations reports to the Manager Finance and Compliance and supports them in undertaking and delivering projects, budgets, budget plans, forecasts, audit and risk management, contract management and procurement functions. The Team Leader will also have responsibility for the people management functions of two staff members.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Demonstrated experience supervising a team to deliver complex financial reconciliations and audits within fixed timeframes.
- Demonstrated experience delivering financial functions including account management, reconciliations, budget analysis, financial reporting, modelling and trend analysis.
- Proven high level interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders and build effective relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate finance related concepts and proposals to non-finance staff and stakeholders.
- Extensive experience using complex spreadsheets, computerised accounting systems, and preferably business analytics tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Tertiary Qualifications in accounting, commerce, finance or relevant field (Desirable).

The Corporate Services Branch of CBS provides essential corporate support to the operations of agency. The branch is responsible for delivering Human Resources, Finance, Auditing, Compliance, Procurement, Facilities, Security and Records Management functionality across CBS. The branch also works closely with other areas of AGD.
The Team Leader, Financial Operations operates within a complex, sensitive and changing environment and is required to exercise a moderate level of judgement and decision making under limited direction.
Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested.
