About the Role

This permanentfull-time position sits within the Infrastructure Services & PlanningDepartment. The Team Leader Fleet &Operations Centre Services will provide leadership and oversee servicesdelivered by Council’s dedicated Fleet and workshop team who currently managesome 520 assets including passenger & light commercial vehicles, heavytrucks, tractors, earthmoving and small operational plant.

The primaryobjectives of the position are to effectively lead, supervise and manage theoperations of the Fleet & Operations Centre Services team to ensurebusiness plan, service standards, budget and specification and integratedmanagement system outcomes are achieved using continuous improvement principles.

Key selectioncriteria for this role include the following:

• A relevant heavy streammechanical qualification combined with substantial subsequent relevant relatedindustry experience. Relevant skills andexperience should include:
• Aproven successful record of supervising and managing fleet & operationsCentre Services, leading staff and contractors to achieve business objectives,incorporating operational programming and project management
• Asound knowledge of fleet management, incorporating fleet workshop, light andheavy Fleet and plant, contract management, specification writing andprocurement
• Demonstratedorganisational skills to effectively manage time, establish priorities andachieve business objectives, despite conflicting pressures
• A current (and ongoing)valid Victorian Driver’s Licence and Heavy Rigid (HR) licence as well assatisfactory Police Check supplied prior to offer of employment andcommencement
• Highly effectiveinterpersonal skills, incorporating verbal and written communication,listening, liaison, advocacy, facilitation and excellent customer service
• Intermediate toadvanced PC literacy, incorporating the Microsoft Office suite of applicationssuch as Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point along with an EDRMS such asObjective
