About the role: Ongoing, full-time.
The Team Leader, Freedom of Information (FOI) reports to the Manager of the FOI Unit and supports them together with the team to process requests in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).
The Team Leader builds relationships with a range of stakeholders and supports and promotes the release of documents and makes decisions under the Freedom of Information Act 1982. They apply their skills in other related contexts such as reviews and complaints before the Victorian Information Commissioner and appeals before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Extensive knowledge of the FOI Act and experience processing complex FOI requests.
* To make decisions that establish precedents.
* The ability to operate within increased level of autonomy and accountability in delivering within broad strategic directions.
* To provide professional leadership and guidance.
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
* The ability to manage stakeholders through effective negotiation and influence.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
