The role
Reporting to the Media Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to lead and mentor a team of media and communications professionals to develop and deliver innovative reactive and proactive media solutions that enhance health outcomes for Queensland health system consumers. In this role you will provide high level advice and leadership on proactive media strategy and delivery, and on issues management, as well as identify and develop proactice and reactive media strategies and plans for a variety of internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you will establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate media outcomes beneficial to the organisation, and proactively seek opportunities to elevate and profile Queensland Health as a trusted provider of public health services and information.
The successful person
To exceed in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in delivering significant or complex communication, media or engagement projects within agreed budgets and timeframes, ensuring all output is aligned to strategic priorities.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in partnership and build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong issues and crisis management skills, including the ability to effectively analyse and understand complex information and negotiate successful outcomes for the organisation.
- Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan and manage the delivery of numerous competing priorities.
- High level analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in a communication and/or project management context.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills within a communications or media environment, including the ability to effectively coach and mentor staff.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute to the positive culture of a team with a track record of maintaining a customer service mentality and supporting all colleagues to succeed.
