Team Leader - Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)
Lady Gowrie is seeking a Team Leader for our Lansdowne OSHC Service in West Hobart. Lady Gowrie is a non-for-profit community-based organisation providing Education and Care to children from birth to 12 years of age.
Role:Team Leader
Location: West Hobart, Lansdowne OSHC
Employment Type: Permanent Part-time, 2 hours per day Before School Care, 3.5 hours per day After School Care & approx. 6 hours on Wednesdays for After Kinder Care.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Team Leader, your primary role is Educator and when undertaking Team Leader duties, you will receive an hourly allowance. Team Leaders are assigned Responsible Person on shift and are providing day to day supervision for their team. At Lansdowne there is a team of 5 – 6 Educators with up to 60 children between 4 – 12 years of age in before school care, after school care and vacation care.
The Team Leader plans, develops, and implements an education and leisure-based curriculum in collaboration with their team. We are looking for team members who are passionate about giving every child a great start to life in line with Lady Gowrie Tasmania’s ‘Children First’ philosophy.
As part of the role, you will:
- Develop and implement exciting programs for children to spark wonder, investigation, connections, and possibilities.
- Interact with and supervise children.
- Lead and mentor your team to ensure children are safe and engaged in our programs.
- Complete relevant administrative and WHS tasks for your service
- Ensure the education program is being provided in collaboration with Manager.
- Promote active communication between educators.
- Make sure routines are being followed and children’s needs are met.
- Organise food orders as per planned menu.
- Delegate to and support educators through shifts.
ABOUT YOU
- Hold a Certificate III or Diploma of Early Education and Care or the equivalent. (Desirable)
- Have experience in Early Education and Care or in OSHC (Desirable)
- Understand the Education and Care Regulations, National Law and National Quality Framework (Desirable)
- Have a passion for creating exciting, fun, and meaningful learning and leisure experiences for children.
- Have strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Have experience with Storypark, Qikkids and other IT systems or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Hold a current registration for Working with Vulnerable People (Child Related Activity) for an employee. (Essential)
