We are seeking a passionate House Team Leader, who is experienced leading a small team to deliver exceptional support services for its residents, including managing behaviours of concern.
You will be accountable for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the house such as managing rosters to budget and mentoring and supervising staff. You will also work shifts as part of the roster, undertaking day-to-day home support such meal preparation and personal care.
The residential service currently operates in Hampton East and Bayside Area.
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Team Leader to lead a team of staff to provide accommodation support. The service supports clients to be as independent as possible through our active model of support. Support is based on each client’s needs, strengths, interests and wishes and clients are actively engaged to participate in daily life and community activities. The role is responsible for ensuring that the service is safe, well run, organised and harmonious.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team providing supervision and support to achieve positive outcomes for clients
- Ensure staff are skilled and knowledgeable in the delivery of contemporary Disability Services guided by the people we support
- Facilitate and manage a partnership approach with families and care providers
- Engage with all key stakeholders
- Manage the day to day running of the house including budgets, compliance, reporting and rostering ensuring correct staff ratios
- Ensure that services are consistent, relevant and comply with Bayley House policies and procedures, relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- Support residents to be involved in all aspects of daily living, including accessing a range of community services
- Assisting with personal care work
- Administering medication
- Being able to support with general household duties to maintain a clean home environment
- Assisting with meal preparation
About You
To be considered for this role you will have experience working within the disability sector as a leader. You will also demonstrate:
- Experience in a leadership position within the delivery of services to people with a disability
- Have a Cert IV in Disability Services or equivalent in human services
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (including the confidence to liaise with your team, staff, client families and carers)
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver's license
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Must be vaccinated and have First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Established influencing and negotiation skills
- A passion and drive to use your leadership capability to make an impact in the sector
- Ability to think creatively and use initiative
- Business Admin experience or qualifications are highly desirable for this role.
- 2 years of relevant disability support work experience
