The Role
The Team Leader/Senior Practitioner will have extensive experience in providing therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families. The Team Leader/Senior Practitioner will have comprehensive knowledge of therapeutic theories, models, and underpinning frameworks. The position will work closely with the Senior Manager, Mediation and Counselling Services, to promote a respectful and culturally safe environment for staff and clients. The Team Leader/Senior Practitioner will complete direct client work, with time allocated for site coordination and supervisor duties.
The Family Relationship Counselling service is offered to children, individuals, couples, and families who are facing difficulties in their relationships or alternatively, who wish to enrich their family relationships.
Mobile Family Connections provides increased opportunities for parents and children to access early learning opportunities for children’s cognitive, social, and emotional development and to benefit and foster parent/child relationships and family functioning generally.
School Counselling program is offered to Catholic Schools in South Australia providing them with innovative and highly skilled children’s counsellors.

Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Counselling OR tertiary qualifications in Social Work/ Psychology with substantial counselling experience
- A minimum of three-five years’ experience in therapeutic intervention to couples, families, and individuals
- An understanding of the family court process
- An understanding of child protection reporting process
- Excellent communication and engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel) and other software to fulfil requirements of the role.
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (previously Known as 'Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance')
- Valid Driver's Licence
Desirable
- Counselling experience with children
- Experience using Athena Penelope electronic client management system
- Experience in the community services sector and/or Not-For-Profit sector
- Understanding of the issues facing regional communities
