The Role
The Remote Monitoring Team Leader is responsible for the daily management, leadership and operational performance of the Remote Monitoring team. Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the focus of the role is to ensure the department exhibits the highest standard of quality cardiac care to SA Heart’s patients.
The successful incumbent is expected to be the clinical leader in Remote Monitoring and perform all duties associated with Remote Monitoring. The Remote Monitoring Team Leader must work collaboratively and contribute as part of the management team and work towards growing the Remote Monitoring division of the business.
The position will encompass the following responsibilities:
- Enrolling patients in home monitoring, loop recorders, defibrillators as well as pacemakers;
- Ensuring structures, systems, processes, protocols, equipment and skilled people are in place to facilitate timely and professional services to our patients and referrers;
- Assisting with recruiting quality staff who will contribute to the culture and skill set required to deliver cardiac Remote Monitoring services;
- Implementing internal training programs and providing support for team members for optimal training outcomes;
- Troubleshooting equipment issues from current Remote Monitoring patients;
- Maintaining and upgrading equipment to embrace the latest technology;
- Ensuring the department reporting systems are current and accurate;
- Follow the correct procedures for alerting relevant Cardiologists of patient alerts/notifications;
- Provide advice via phone or email to queries from admin staff, patients and device reps.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor of Science/Health Science or equivalent;
- Experience in cardiac Remote Monitoring;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and;
- Possess strong leadership capabilities.
