About the Role

The purpose of a St John Ambulance Queensland (SJAQ) Team Leader Service Delivery is to provide leadership, development support and coordination to the Service Delivery Team. 

This role will be responsible for the management and promotion of a competent, engaged and vibrant team of logistics professionals. Service Delivery functions will provide clients with timely, efficient, effective, and quality direct support including coordination and rostering of staff/volunteers, equipment and vehicles to support the client need. The primary services being delivered by the team will be direct transport and accompanied activities.

You will work closely with the communities leadership team to meet the daily challenges, workflow demands and contractual obligations.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop processes and instructions for staff/volunteers.
  • Assess Service Delivery matters including incidents, client feedback, and complaints.
  • Assist Operations Manager in daily program requirements, logistics, and financial management.
  • Identify and improve service gaps and infrastructure.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities.
  • Assist in recruitment and selection process for Service Delivery Team.
  • Provide on-the-job support and leadership.
  • Relay policy and industry-based information.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and handle complaints/conflicts effectively.
  • Collaborate with staff/volunteers to identify support and training needs.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Participate actively in cross-functional process improvement.
  • Contribute to a harmonious working environment.
  • Manage database operations and development.
  • Provide technical advice on policy matters and maintain records according to standards.
  • Actively engage in professional development activities.
  • Adhere to professional standards and organizational policies.
  • Ensure workplace health and safety compliance.
  • Promote a culture of safety and respect in the workplace.
  • Flexibility to work beyond the scope of the position description as reasonable.
  • May require reasonable travel for work purposes.

About you (skills and experience)

  • Formal qualifications / education / training in Management, Business, Community Services or Health Care.
  • NDIS Worker Screening check (current or ability to obtain one)
  • Blue Card (current or ability to obtain one)
  • Open Class Code C driving licence, plus excellent driving record Satisfactory
  • Criminal History Check (current or ability to obtain one)
  • Demonstrated Team Leadership skills including; supervision; budgetary requirements; administration skills; and developing administrative procedures / office systems requiring a high degree of judgment, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement with drive to seek out and maintain beneficial relationships with internal and external individuals and agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in logistics, with evidence of adapting rapidly and optimising rosters, resources and runs when changes occur and in a live environment.
  • Strong written communication skills, including ability to research, analyse and report on data, finance, and develop program policy and instructions, and grant applications.
  • High level computer skills, database administration/management, MS Office knowledge and commitment to high quality administration system performance and reporting.
  • Practical experience in developing and delivering strong customer service systems and teams to respond effectively to delivering person centre care and quality service outcomes. 
  • Availability to travel and have flexibility to work outside normal business hours as regularly required.
  • Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation and relevant codes of practice (including First Aid).
  • Working knowledge of the community service regulatory and event service clinical credentialing systems and processes.
