About the Region
The South Burnett Region is ideally situated just 2 - 3 hours' drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. About the role

- $65K - $73K per annum + Allowances + Super
Council is seeking a Team Leader to provide skilled assistance to Supervisors and teams responsible for the delivery of construction and maintenance activities. This role will lead and manage allocated teams to maximise the overall performance of the team to deliver allocated works effectively and efficiently, read and interpret plans and instructions and provide daily progress reports as well as assist senior officers with the establishment of work programmes. The successful applicant will have demonstrated working knowledge of techniques and guidelines for road construction and maintenance, proven leadership skills with ability to stimulate a high level of performance as well as sound literacy and numeracy, computer skills and ability to establish work priorities.
Additional Factors:
- Participation in after hours and weekend work is a requirement of this position
- Level of fitness required to undertake a broad range of physical tasks
- Working outdoors in hot conditions
Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of a current C Class driver’s licence
- General Safety Induction for Construction Worker Cert (White Card)
- Certificate III in Civil Construction
Desirable Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction
- MR Truck Licence
- Plant Tickets

Skills and experience
**Please address the following key selection criteria items below, as part of your application**
- Substantial practical experience (at least 5 years) in a similar role, preferably in a local government environment.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of techniques and guidelines for road construction and maintenance, and relevant quality assurance.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to stimulate a high level of performance and foster teamwork within all members of the team including contractors.
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to undertake calculations associated with level control and costings, project budgets and associated paperwork.
- Computer skills with knowledge of the MS Office Suite and Corporate Software Systems (e.g., Technology One).
- Demonstrated experience in logistics and the efficient and effective allocation of staff and resources, establishing work priorities and meeting deadlines.
