In this role, you'll:
In this role you will work alongside 2 other Team Managers to support large teams to deliver critical projects within our Major Works Division.
You will manage the Traction discipline, alongside the other Team Managers who look after Electrical & Cables and Substations. Running the Traction team comes with a large level of responsibility, you will oversee around 21 direct reports alongside up to 10 apprentices, ensuring all teams are resources correctly and delivering training where needed.
You will engage and manage this team, being able to lead and develop their skills to create a high performing team.

About you
Your traction experience will enable you to truly lead and grow this team. You will be able to demonstrate strong managerial or supervisory experience where you have been responsible for workforce planning, rostering and the general well-being and development of your team.
You will collaborate with Project Managers and Project Engineers, so it is preferable you have a decent understanding of project delivery within a rail environment.
You will be able to go out to site and to the office, leading from the front and being able to check on their mental welfare and general well-being by being approachable and responsive.
This is a permanent RC6 position, and the team currently work in the office 3 days per week alongside site based work.
