The RoleThe Digital technology delivery team within Retirement and Superannuation Solutions (RSS) business manages industry-leading enterprise platforms that power the experience for our Superannuation members, employers, colleagues and clients.Working as an integral part of the
Technical Analyst team in Digital domain, you will join a highly collaborative team to analyse business requirements and produce Functional Specifications for projects enhancing our digital platforms. You will assist the business with clarifying requirements, providing input to system architecture, proposing solutions, and creating details technical requirements. You will closely collaborate with the Development and Test team members throughout the System Development Life Cycle.

- 12 months Fixed term contract role (Due to internal movement, potential for extension or permanent)
- Great opportunity for an experienced developer, software engineers, analyst programmers or a solutions system analyst/solution consultant who are looking to step into technical analysis role.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
- Analyse business requirements and produce functional specifications for system changes
- Liaise with key business stakeholders and provide expertise to investigate, gather and document requirements for enhancements to Systems
- Proide technical expertise to developers and test analysts.
- Design REST APIs that meets business requirements and adhere to industry best practices
- Ensure solution design meets business requirements and solution is understood by Technical Development and Test Teams.
- Assist with the testing phases and production support issues
- Collaborate with third parties to deliver integrated system solutions
- Investigate and consult on pragmatic alternatives for short, medium and long term solutions to a problem.
- Provide Technical Specification effort estimates.
- Be proactive in identifying and implementing improvements to processes and procedures within the team and greater IT group.
- Manage and balance client and stakeholder expectations and report and escalate where needed.
- Logging and accessing technical solutions within the JIRA database and thoroughly documenting the status of all client liaisons and communications.
- Act as a technical or team lead as required and mentor junior Technical Analysts in the team
- SQL query writing to support analysis tasks.
Experience & Personal Attributes
- 5+ Years of demonstrable high competency as Technical Analyst or equivalent role
- Business and Technical Analysis experience and/or product knowledge in Superannuation or financial domain.
- Knowledge of API design, microservices architecture and SQL
- Working knowledge and application of SQL and of MS office products.
- Excellent communication skills and adaptability to working hours.
- Sound understanding of IT application and system design best practice.
- Experience working in an outsourced or offshored environment.
- Tertiary Qualifications in IT or a related field highly desirable.
