Circa $850/day Incl Super 6 months contract (Possibility to extend) Geelong and Melbourne CBD (Hybrid) Position Objective This role supports project delivery to ensure applications are stable and functional and provide input into the planning of future systems. This role will partner with the department's project teams and the wider business to translate software requirements into technical specifications, along with software developers and quality assurance analysts to develop logical technical processes. The position also performs basic cost-benefit calculations, interdependency analysis, and prioritisation exercises related to systems changes. Key Accountabilities Solution Design and Architecture: Develop and maintain architectural blueprints and design specifications for various IT projects. Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring they are practical, scalable, and aligned with the overall business strategy. Evaluate and select appropriate software or hardware and suggest integration methods. Project Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and participate in project planning and design meetings. Collaborate with IT teams, including developers, engineers, and other members, to ensure consistent implementation of the architecture. Liaise with stakeholders to explain the benefits and constraints of the architecture. Technology Research and Evaluation: Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in technology. Evaluate new technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities within the company's products. Quality Assurance and Best Practices: Ensure that solutions meet technical and business requirements. Develop and implement best practices and guidelines for system design and development. Oversee the development and maintenance of IT documentation, including system architecture plans. Manages the integration testing cycle and writes integration test scripts and the non-functional/technical requirements. Troubleshoot and diagnose systems data flows and business logic issues as they impact the business. Investigate and conduct research as required on business and technical issues associated with projects. Other duties as requested by Manager Information Services Key Selection Criteria Skills Professional knowledge in MS Office Application Suite Experience in the provision of system documentation which can be understood by non-technical staff. Demonstrated skills and experience supporting enterprise applications in a complex service delivery environment. Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, concise and articulate manner using the most appropriate medium Knowledge Tertiary qualifications in computer science, information technology, or related field or a combination of related experience and education Solid understanding of the constraints and capabilities of information systems Significant experience of all phases of software development including requirements analysis, design, testing, defect management. Experience in MS SQL databases, query tools and the interrelationships of data sets MS Office Application Suite. Experience in the provision of system documentation which can be understood by non-technical staff; Demonstrated skills and experience supporting enterprise applications in a complex service delivery environment.
