Position Overview:
Our client is seeking experienced Technical Business Analyst with a background in the utilities industry to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between business objectives and technical solutions, leveraging your expertise to drive the successful delivery of projects and initiatives that shape the future of energy distribution and management.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to gather, analyse, and document business requirements for technical projects within the utilities sector.
- Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications, ensuring alignment with project objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Conduct thorough analysis of existing systems, processes, and data to identify opportunities for optimisation, improvement, and innovation.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and interviews with key stakeholders to elicit requirements, gather feedback, and drive consensus on project scope and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments to support decision-making and prioritise project initiatives.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including IT, engineering, operations, and regulatory affairs to ensure seamless integration of business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support the testing, validation, and implementation of new systems, features, and functionalities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to project teams, serving as a subject matter expert on utilities industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) preferred.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the utilities or energy sector, with a strong understanding of industry-specific processes, systems, and regulations.
- Solid technical background with proficiency in data analysis, requirements elicitation, process modelling, and solution design.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, SDLC processes, and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is highly desirable.
