JSC is a well established civil, concreting and bulk haulage company based in Canberra, ACT. JSC has been working in the greater Canberra region for over 15 years and works mainly in commercial civil infrastructure projects with clients such as the ACT Government, Transport for NSW and many other local government organizations and large tier 1 and tier 2 construction companies.
JSC has recently expanded it's core business into commercial construction projects and has established a fourth division of the business, JSC Build Group, to deliver these projects.
The role of Technical Estimating and Tendering Manager reports to the Bids and Corporate Services Manager. The role is based in our Mitchell Head Office.
The role is responsible for:
- Management & Development of the Estimating Team
- Coordination of tenders
- Writing of construction and civil methodology statements
- Attendance at pre and post tender meetings
- Development of the baseline documentation and templates
- Management of the continual improvement program and documenting lessons learnt
- Training junior estimators
- Responsible for the quality and substance of the tender documentation especially the methodology
- Management and distribution of packages to the estimating team
- Pricing all opportunities be it a tender, RFQ or variation to existing contracted scope
- Submission of RFI's and stakeholder engagement
- Procurement functions including sourcing suitable subcontractors and vendors
- Developing and maintaining client relationships
Essential Skills and Criteria:
- A minimum of of 3 years experience in a pervious role or roles where you were responsible for writing winning tender submissions including detailed methodologies and pricing
- A tertiary qualification in Civil construction
- A strong understanding of civil project methodologies, especially bulk earthworks, concerting & subgrades
- Proven experience in leadership and team development
- A strong attention to detail with proven IT skills with the MS office suite and project management systems
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbal and written with a strong command of the English language
- Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship required
This is a senior role within the business and whilst ideally the role would be based in the Head Office, JSC is willing to review working hours to allow a hybrid working model for the right candidate.
