We work hybrid and this role can be based in New South Wales, Western Australia, Victoria or Queensland. This means that you will have the opportunity to work in the location that best suit your preferences and work from home, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.
What you'll do
Reporting to the national head for Safety and Compliance, you will have joint responsibility for defining and implementing the technical strategic direction of the section. This involves nurturing key client and internal WSP relationships, demonstrating thought leadership, and continuously improving consultancy service offerings.
Additionally, you will actively engage in team coaching and mentorship to enhance their technical capabilities.
On a day-to-day basis, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing thought leadership in the Safety and Compliance discipline, applying innovative thinking to address industry trends relevant to ongoing challenges and strategies
- Leading regional Practice Area Network activities and promoting initiatives aligned with the PAN's vision and strategy, ensuring regional Communities of Practice are informed about PAN activities
- Developing the operational, commercial, and consultancy capabilities of others through facilitation and coaching
- Contributing to pursuits for significant opportunities to secure future workload
- Conducting technical quality reviews and providing sign-off accordingly
- Managing diverse, engaged, and multi-disciplinary hybrid teams
- Sharing the Future Ready initiative across the organization
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience offering technical expertise and strategic advice to clients, leading multiple health and safety projects, and have at least 10 years of experience in a consultancy environment.
Furthermore, the following experiences and attributes are desirable:
- Expertise in Safety by Design, high-risk industries, property management sector, and/or major projects
- Proficiency in workplace risk assessment, including hazard identification, risk assessment, recommending controls, and overseeing the delivery of HSE documentation
- Certification or Charter as an OSH Professional (AIHS) or a similar industry accreditation
- Deep understanding of relevant legislation, standards, guidelines, and codes of practice
- A compelling leadership style with the ability to inspire, motivate, encourage, and influence others through a socially impactful approach
