AddressBerle Transport is a medium-sized refrigerated transport and storage company operating since 1979. Based in Ingleburn, we specialise in the transportation, storage and distribution of temperature sensitive foods around Australia.
We have an opening for a full-time Safety & Compliance Officer to join us in our team. You will bring your experience in safety, compliance, and administration to the team.
You will be responsible for
- Monitoring and enforcing compliance with NHVR, CoR, and other relevant legislation.
- Reviewing and maintaining processes, driver manuals and documentation, and implementing improvements.
- Investigating incidents, injuries, near misses and hazards, communicating with external stakeholders as required.
- Reporting and maintaining accurate safety, maintenance, and compliance registers.
- Conducting regular internal audits and preparing for and participating in NHVR audits.
- Leading safety training, toolbox talks, meetings and ensuring seamless inductions and onboarding of contractors and new drivers.
- Adhoc reporting and administration duties as required.
Key skills / about you
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders (internal and external).
- Experience in the Transport/Logistics industry is essential, preferably in CoR, Quality Assurance, Compliance, Safety, Risk and Audit.
- Understanding of National Heavy Vehicle regulations, standards, practices, and policies.
- Ability to effectively create and communicate safety and compliance procedures.
- Tertiary certificate in WH&S, Compliance, Quality Auditing, or equivalent desired.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency is essential.
Success in this role requires a high degree of organisation skills with an eye for the detail, you rarely miss things and if you do, you correct fast.
