About the role

As a Technical Lead in the Guidewire Chapter, your role is to work with Tribe/Platform leaders and the Engineering Practice to design, develop and implement improvements and capability in Engineering including people, tools, culture, and way of working.

The Technical Lead is ultimately accountable for code quality, solution output, software, and platform engineering output. As Technical Lead, you will provide systems analysis, design, development, maintenance, and ongoing support for Guidewire applications through guidance and mentoring of junior engineers.

What you'll do

• Ensure solution design, estimation, and delivery is in alignment with domain architectural strategies
• Develop software engineering quality practices such as automated testing
• Mentor engineers to improve engineering capability and embed strong agile practices
• Participate in pro-active risk mitigation activities, identifying and addressing risks
• Develop a highly collaborative working relationship with delivery teams and stakeholders
• Evangelise secure software development principles within the team through code review

What you'll bring 

• 5+ years software engineering experience with at 3+ years of Technical Leadership
• Experience with Java, Node.js, Oracle RDBMS, Spring, Jira, Confluence, Source control systems and Continuous Delivery tools
• Previous experience with Guidewire Insurance Suite desired  
• Experience developing and supporting high availability production systems
• Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring engineers
