NetEngine is a Brisbane-based software engineering company, offering a range of technical and digital solutions and services to clients of all shapes and sizes locally, across Australia and globally.
We’re an experienced, on-shore team, who value face to face collaboration, efficiency and providing affordable services at competitive rates.
While our development skills are through the roof, we also have human skills - which means we can crack a joke, drink litres of coffee, and have a Friday arvo beer with our colleagues and clients. Our technical and people skills mean we tend to nurture and build long-term partnerships with our clients.
We deliver solutions and products with clear, user-friendly interfaces, ensuring the software development journey is seamless across a range of industries and innovations.
NetEngine is part of Scout Talent Group (STG), a service-enabled SaaS business delivering outstanding talent software and services which help our clients to grow their organisations. Our Group Purpose (our ‘Why’) is to connect people to grow companies, careers and communities.
STG is paving the way when it comes to recruitment and talent tech, and we plan to IPO within 2-3 years.
About the roleAs Technical Lead, you’ll be involved in the development of both our own products (the Scout Talent suite and Marketplace), as well as our client projects and products.
Some of your key responsibilities will be to:
- For each project we work on (whether it be on behalf of our clients, or when we’re working on our own products), understand the problem(s) to be solved and the technical needs. Assign resources accordingly.
- Set the technical direction we take for each project. Take a brief or vision from the project stakeholders (e.g. our clients, our Project Leaders, and/or our Product Managers) and break down the requirements from dev ops and infrastructure through to the build itself (including design).
- Identify gaps in our development team and take an active role in upskilling and resourcing as required.
- Maintain and keep high standards of security. Identify and mitigate risks.
- Be accountable for code quality, deployment and delivery of projects.
- Act as a sounding board for the team when development decisions need to be made.
You’ll be a member of STG’s leadership team, reporting to Scout Talent Group's Head of Product & Development. Right now we have a team of 11 developers (back end and front end) across Brisbane and Vancouver. We want to grow this in FY25 and you’ll play a part in setting up the optimal team structure given our headcount and what we want to achieve.
