Technical Leader - Financial Lines Claims

• Provide people and Technical Leadership to the Financial Lines Claims team
• Develop a culture of high performance, accountability and customer obsession
• Brisbane or Sydney location

You will draw on your strong technical skills to enable you to lead a team of Claims Officers managing professional indemnity & financial risk claims.
You will also evaluate claims data and lead strategic projects utilising technical background to enhance team performance as well as financial and customer outcomes.
What you'll do

• Manage operational rhythm of team and day to day workflow and productivity
• Provide clear communication of strategic and financial goals and drive high performance culture through technical competency
• Maintain a strong focus on productivity and efficiency through data insights
• Provide oversight of technical claims decisions and work collaboratively with others to uplift technical capability
• Oversee technical claims decisions and manages timely reserving practice within team
• Lead team to drive favourable claim results through technical expertise
• Drive strength in capability and technical skill of individuals through coaching and support with tailored professional development
• Manage expectations and instil stakeholder confidence through capability and sound claims decisions

What you'll bring

• Extensive work experience in Professional Indemnity & Financial Lines Claims
• Demonstrated leadership and strong technical background
• Strong critical thinking with the ability to analyse situations accurately and make effective decisions
• Strong negotiation skills with a constructive and collaborative style
• Sound ability to coach and development others
• Proven stakeholder management and an ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
