Position SummaryTechnical Officer Grade 1 (Prosthetics/Orthotics)Latrobe Regional HealthTraralgon, West Gippsland & Latrobe Valley VICFull timeWe are seeking a motivated person to join the prosthetics and orthotics team at Latrobe regional health in the production of quality prosthetic and orthotic devices for our clients in Gippsland.On the job training is provided to help you develop the skills and knowledge required to manufacture custom made prosthetic and orthotic devices.No previous experience required but mechanical or other technical hand skills and experience would be beneficial.LRH employees enjoy access to:

About the role:This position is responsible for fabrication of Prosthetic & Orthotic devices as directed by the P&O clinical staff. This role includes fabrication of devices using plastic moulding and composite fibre lamination materials and techniques.Key responsibilities will include:Provide high standard, effective technical support for the prosthetics & orthotics service to allocated unitsManufacture prosthetic and orthotic devices in accordance with known engineering practices and techniques.Maintenance of laboratory equipment and environment.Assist with stock management.Maintain an individual technical workload and act as a resource person to others as part of a person-centred, multi-disciplinary team, according to the approved practices of LRH.About you:To be successful in this role, you will have the following:Trade qualifications or skills that are transferable to this role.Basic knowledge base in Prosthetic and Orthotic technical servicesAbility to carry out technical processes as requiredSound written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage work load appropriate to area of workAbility to work as an effective member within a small profession teamAbility to apply quality improvement measures into area of practiceGood attention to detailFamiliarity with MS Office programsSelf-motivationFor more information about this exciting opportunity, we encourage you to contact Bruce Poole or Kath Hudson on lrhpando@lrh.com.au for a confidential discussion.About LRHLRH was proud to be the recipient of the 2022 Premier’s Health Service of the Year (Medium) Award.
