The Technical Officer, Electrical will provide laboratory services to enable key teaching and research priorities to be met; they will coordinate the access, usage, quality assurance and compliance of a number of laboratories and workshops within the Institute.
You will:
- contribute to compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements;
- coordinate staff and student access to facilities by arranging inductions and space bookings;
- assist in the preparation of risk assessments for all laboratory and technical activities; and
- ensure regular maintenance, calibration and timely repair of equipment and instrumentation
About you
The Technical Officer, Electrical is responsible for resolving problems using technical analysis and diagnostic skills. Judgement is required to ensure matters are escalated when necessary.
You will possess:
- expertise in electronics or similar field is essential to support complex experiments in power electronics and new energy technology research;
- capacity to design, fabricate and maintain technical electrical equipment for use in teaching and research;
- experience in conducting and monitoring complex electrical experiments, undertaking quantitative analysis; and
- ability to manage related workflows to achieve timely outcomes
