The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Technical Product Specialist to join our client’s team. As a Technical Product Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving product development, providing expert advice to customers, and staying at the forefront of food ingredient innovation.
The Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products that align with market trends and application expectations.
- Manage projects from inception to successful implementation, ensuring on-time and in-full delivery.
- Proactively engage and manage stakeholders to ensure project briefs are met.
- Support the Purchasing department by evaluating and testing new raw materials.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely and effective evaluation of materials.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering expert guidance on product usage to achieve desired outcomes.
- Attend factory trials, providing physical presence and guidance to ensure optimal product application.
- Travel to customer locations, fostering strong relationships and representing our client as a solution-focused business.
- Continuously enhance the reputation of our client within the region through exceptional customer support.
- Document all work for R&D tax purposes, knowledge building, and team learning.
- Deliver accurate and comprehensive trial reports and plans in agreed formats.
- Engage with suppliers to stay updated on food ingredient developments.
- Actively seek new ingredients to drive sales growth.
- Provide professional feedback to the team and manager regarding potential materials of interest.
- University degree in Food Technology / Food Science / Meat Science with a minimum of 2+ years of industry experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of food science, processing, technology, analytical testing, nutrition, labelling, and food development.
- Working knowledge of using ingredients in diverse areas such as Meat, Poultry & Seafood (an advantage).
- Familiarity with stage-gate processes, food laws, and regulations.
- Solid understanding of food product chemistry, excellent analytical skills, and effective problem-solving techniques.
- Demonstrated innovation, research, and product design capabilities.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and documentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
- Independent decision-maker who ensures timely project execution.
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity, passion, and a positive influence on the team.
- Builds and nurtures relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Exhibits persistence and resilience in challenging situations.
- Regular interaction with Sales Managers, Internal stakeholders, Customers, Suppliers, and Global team.
