This position can be offered in Melbourne, Vic or Adelaide, SAYou will be responsible for driving innovative technical publication solutions in the Hunter Class Frigate Program and will lead a team of Tech Pub Authors, Illustrators and Multi-Media experts.Visit our website to know about the Hunter Class Frigate program:Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage the Technical Publications team to develop and deliver program specific deliverables based upon the program requirements.
  • Lead and contribute towards writing Technical, Operational and Maintenance Manuals for the frigates
  • Working collaboratively with maintenance analysts, engineering, illustrators and other key contributors to deliver a high quality publication.
  • Review, proof read and edit the publications to ensure the consistency of a high quality product.
  • Be responsible multi-media and product innovation
  • Manage cost & schedule, and allocation of workload across the team
  • Collaborate with Engineers Managers and stakeholders across the program to develop capability and domain expertise
  • Make recommendations for improvement of processes and procedures with respect to publications development and ILS.
  • Identify skill set requirement and resource recruitment
About YOU
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large and complex technical projects and leading teams of technical authors, Illustrators, Librarians, multi-media experts etc.
  • A background in supporting the application and review of engineering management, test & validation, safety analysis and asset management
  • Experience in writing policies and procedures, data management, technical writing & illustration services
  • Demonstrated understanding of S1000D
  • Experience of working within a team environment on a complex multidisciplinary project
  • Exceptional ability to use good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform allocated tasks under pressure/time constraints.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and confidence dealing with all levels of Management and personnel.
  • Exposure to and knowledge of structured authoring tools
  • A background in the defence sector is desirable
