Over last 108 years NSK has developed into a global organization researching, designing, and manufacturing Motion & Control™ solutions supporting mobility and industrial applications. In Australia, we have been in operation for nearly 60 years servicing all major customers directly or via our distributor network.
NSK products and solutions are everywhere where something is moving – even deployed under the hardest of conditions.  Our high precision roller bearings and ball bearings are spinning away in wind turbines and machine tools, our linear systems are hard at work in production lines, while our automotive products are to be found in vehicles from just about every major automotive manufacturer.
 
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Technical Sales and application engineer professional to join our operation based in Sydney or nearby area, NSW.  This role will see you provide technical support to new and existing customers promoting value-based selling across key market segments.
 
Skills and Experience
As the ideal candidate and to make the transition as smooth as possible, you will possess the following key attributes:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1-5 years of experience in manufacturing/engineering and sales experience displaying sound mechanical aptitude and confident to be hands-on when required.
  • Prior knowledge of bearings and their applications is preferred but not essential. Applicants with no prior knowledge of bearings/power transmission products should be keen learners to be mentored from the best in the industry.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Japanese language literacy will be an added advantage.
  • Good analytical skills to apply in day-to-day operations servicing customers with value adding solutions.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and further develop existing business within NSW.
  • Perform account management duties across key customers and segments in both OEM and aftermarket businesses.
  • Lead sales activity in New South Wales to meet sales objectives and budgets.
  • Develop strategic business plans for the NSW region to support penetrating new markets and customers.
  • Establish close working relationships with senior management and decision makers at customers to provide the highest levels of service and satisfaction.
  • Provide technical support and application specific solutions to customers within the responsible region supporting existing business as well as opening new opportunities.
  • Provide engineering support to the industrial bearing sales team.
  • Create and conduct technical and commercial presentations/proposals
  • Provide training to Distributors and End Users.
  • Liaise with both our regional technical center and parent company in Japan regarding technical matters.
  • Provide assistance to customers with regards to bearing selection, application analysis and reviews including preparing detailed reports.
  • Actively practice and support NSK’s strategic plan

  • Must hold a current Australian driver’s license.

  • Some travel will be required.
