We are situated in North Melbourne, only a short walk from Macaulay train station and have a workforce of 20+ individuals.
Alternative Engineering is a looking for a motivated individual to join as a Technical Sales Representative to add to our exciting sales team.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will support and build strong relationship with our existing customers through our account management & sales support process.
The basic duties for this position are:
Work with clients to determine their specific requirements
Gather appropriate details from clients for purpose of manufacture
Identify and manage the appropriate quoting process
Forward completed quotations to clients and follow up to achieve sales conversion
Provide internal support in preparing sales order information
Generate Sales Orders and collate detail for manufacture
Interact with clients via email, phone and face to face
Communicate job status with clients as required
Process cash sales and credit card transactions
Assist with sales and marketing functions
Handle incoming telephone calls and outgoing sales calls
Must haves for this position
Excellent computer skills, with a high level of accuracy when entering data
Have sound numeracy and literacy skills
Be well spoken with clear English skills
Have a confident and pleasant phone manner
Be able to communicate confidently and clearly on the phone and face to face
At least 2 years plus experience in customer service
The following optional skills will be well regarded
A background or interest in machine shop operations
An interest in mechanical engineering
An ability to read engineering drawings
An ability to use workshop measuring equipment
