THE ROLE
Mechtric is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative - Industrial Automation to join our Victorian Operation.

IDEAL REQUIREMENTS
To apply this role ideally you should possess all of the following:
- An electrical engineering degree, diploma or suitable electrical trade qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an external sales and business development role with a focus acquiring and developing customers that use Industrial Automation products.
- A network of potential new customers in the greater Melbourne area.
- A sound working knowledge and experience with all aspects of new customer acquisition strategies, customers sales call planning and execution and sales administration utilising a CRM system including:
- Effective sales calls to existing customers that result in increased sales of Industrial Automation products.
- Identifying and developing new customers through structured BD activities.
- Preparing customer quotes, entering sales orders, expediting sales and dealing with customer queries as required.
- Working with all Mechtric VIC team members to meet customer expectations.
- Excellent IT proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook) and experience with remote working using a laptop.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with the State Manager to implement business development strategies to acquire new customers and develop existing customers.
- Calling on and developing relationships with new and existing customers covering Electrical Contractors, Switchboard Builders, Systems Integrators, OEM's and Strategic End Users in Victoria and Tasmania.
- Gaining a detailed understanding of each customer's business and how the Mechtric product range can assist in delivering customer business objectives.
- Assisting customers with specifying suitable components.
- Preparing, conveying and adjusting customer quotations to secure sales orders.
- Working with Mechtric Head Office to ensure all customers' needs are accurately and efficiently fulfilled.
