Join our dynamic team as the Technical Services Director for the Australia East, PNG and Mongolia operations, overseeing a talented team of approx. 600 professional Engineers, Designers and Document Controllers across 8 offices and multiple customer operating sites.
This leadership position will be responsible for leading our technical team delivering projects across Australia East, Papua New Guinea & Mongolia as well as being a key member of the Australia East Leadership Team. You will be responsible for continuing to build a high performing team of engineers, designers and document controllers of suitable skills, qualification / accreditation and appropriate experience that will provide fit for purpose technical outcomes and solutions for our customers.
The successful applicant will be based in either Brisbane or Melbourne.
Role purpose:
- Leadership in progressing Worley's purpose of Delivering a More Sustainable World, supporting initiatives that progress our Ambition in areas of People, Portfolio, Planet and living our values and behaviours of Life, Rise to the Challenge, Stronger Together, Unlock Brilliance
- Accountable for the professional development and pastoral care of people within the Technical Services Team.
- Provide technical solutions that apply innovative thinking for our customers.
- Functional and technical leadership and oversight of the technical disciplines across Australia East, PNG & Mongolia.
- Lead the functional team to ensure we build and maintain the depth of capability and capacity across both AUE, PNG & Mongolia and Global Integrated Delivery (GID) Partner offices to effectively deliver on customer commitments and meet the current and future needs of our business strategy
- Provide oversight and management direction to ensure consistent, successful technical delivery, with a focus on innovation and technical excellence.
- As part of the AUE Leadership Team, contribute to the overall AUE Location business goals and drive strategic direction.
The ideal candidate will have:
- University degree, or equivalent in an engineering discipline. Chartered engineer status is favourable.
- Excellent people leadership and management skills.
- Ability to make difficult decisions and lead and manage others in changing business conditions.
- Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in engineering & design.
- Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary engineering delivery on complex projects.
- Ability to apply creative thinking to solve complex problems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to develop high performance culture and unlock opportunities for our people.
- Passion for the development of our people and how it is critically important to the success of Worley, our customers and themselves.
