We are partnered with a well positioned mining business that is seeking a leader of Technical Services to drive outcomes across one of its open pit operation in Central Queensland. Offering a choice of residential, FIFO or drive in and out lifestyle options on a 9 day fortnight (5/2-4/3) this is a crucial role that will play a key part in the performance and success of this open cut operation.
About the role:
As an inclusive and progressive employer this role will offer the successful candidate a challenging and diverse range of responsibilities where the focus will be across Technical Services with a focus on mining planning outcomes. Reporting to the Project Manager you will have a number of key direct reports coupled with a team of people to drive outcomes and achieve strategic objectives.
About you:
This role will require a mix of skills that you have honed over a proven career in the mining sector. This will enable you to not only manage the team and ensure success; but be able to add value to the business, its overall production performance and safety. In addition, you will bring excellent communication skills and the ability to work across a range of key stakeholders in various departments.
You will bring qualifications in a technical area such as mining engineering, surveying or geology coupled with 5 + years proven experience in senior level roles that have seen you take responsibility for and achieve desired results within in similar mining environments. You must have experience in leadership of diverse technical teams in an open cut; truck and shovel mining environment. Exposure to a suite of mining related software will also be advantageous.
