The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Safety & Environmental Management of risks and hazards in your workplace to ensure no incidents and to achieve 100% compliance of all Safety & Environmental requirements.
- Show commitment to build relationships for open communication with operations management to maximise production achievements.
- Work with Maintenance Team to ensure Safety KPI targets are achieved. Provide all necessary internal and external reports on safety and environmental compliance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Attend regular area Maintenance Meetings to review equipment performance, develop remedial actions as required and develop improvement plans for cost and reliability.
- Provide guidance direction and coaching to the maintenance personnel and provide opportunities for continuous improvement
- Ensure the departments long-term targets are understood and achieved
- Address technical issues on the equipment and carry daily inspection to a high standard to ensure defects are identified prior to failure. Provide inputs for resources and estimates needed to plan and schedule the defects into Pronto and make sure they are executed prior to failure.
- Ensure environmental controls are given consideration when performing tasks related to Inspection, Planned / Unplanned Maintenance Events.
- Provide technical support to Diggers & Drills Supervisors to ensure they understand the shift priorities and can direct and support the team as needed.
You should be a self-motivated professional holding the following experience:
- A trade qualified Auto Electrician with experience working on Komatsu and CAT heavy mining equipment.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in the mining industry at an open pit operation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Good computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite.
