About the Role
Reporting to the Technical Resources Coordinator - Audio, the Technical Stores OfficerAudio and AV provides proactive and reactive venue and studio technical support for the faculty's Audio, AV and lighting infrastructure. The position is responsible for induction of students and staff in the safe use and operation of equipment. The role will also be required to install, operate Audio and AV systems and, at times, simple lighting systems. The incumbent will contribute to ongoing and cyclical maintenance programs and maintain allocated venue stock and equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Respond promptly and efficiently to ad hoc technical requests from stakeholders regarding Audio, AV, and lighting as required
  • Provide inductions to users of studios, venues and other learning environments
  • Provide induction, instruction, and demonstration to users of technical performance-based equipment and technologies including elevated work platforms, ladders and seating banks. 
  • Working to Faculty timelines and systems, prepare for, and foresee opportunities to provide ongoing cyclic and non-cyclic maintenance.
  • Install and operate audio, AV and simple lighting systems for concerts, examinations, recitals and conferences as required.

Who We Are Looking For
You will bring broad experience in troubleshooting technical issues with audio, AV, and lighting equipment, along with a demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated experience providing instruction in the use of performance-based technologies
  • Broad experience operating and programming a range of audio consoles, particularly DiGiCo, Allen & Heath and Yamaha
  • Broad experience in operating AV, and basic lighting equipment for live performance-based events.
  • Demonstrated experience in programming and operating Qlab
  • Confident use in VectorWorks

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
