About the Position
We are seeking a Technical Support Officer to assist the Asset Planning team undertake technical support activities including preparing technical documents, undertaking site inspections, data collection and data entry.
You will be responsible for providing Technical Support services focused on the City's infrastructure network, which includes parks, buildings and community facilities. You will provide technical writing support and maintain relevant registers, databases and systems, ensuring that information is accurate, stored correctly, accessible as required and meets legislative requirements.
A challenging aspect of the role will be applying technical skills in the work environment to assist our asset planners, maintaining a consistent and methodical data collection process, and ensuring a high level of accuracy when undertaking data-entry.
About You
You must be adaptable and ready to take on a challenge. The role would be perfectly suited to a candidate with the following skills and experience:
- Relevant experience in a technical role managing asset data including entering data into dedicated Information Systems such as Assetic, and GIS applications such as MapInfo or QGIS.
- Relevant experience undertaking fieldwork, inspecting parks and building assets, collecting data and documenting asset condition.
- Intermediate computing, numeracy and literacy skills.
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Intermediate organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and schedule work.
- Intermediate communication and problem-solving skills.
- Foundational research, analysis and customer service skills.
- 'C' class Drivers License - Essential.
- Knowledge of the practical application of occupational health and safety measures in the workplace including hazard identification when undertaking site visits.
