u&u. has been retained by an instantly recognisable market leader within the not-for-profit sector to recruit a Technical Systems and Data Analyst on an initial 9-month Fixed Term Contract. It is highly likely this role will transition to a permanent role after the initial contract period. This role is based at their headquarters in the North Suburbs of Sydney (parking on-site). Your New Role:
Reporting to the Head of IT, you'll join at an exciting period of company growth, transformation and technology investment. An IT roadmap of technology uplift has been developed and approved by the board and all core business systems will be replaced with modern, fit for purpose, scalable solutions. This role will be 70% business analysis responsibilities and 30% data/BI. You'll be responsible for evaluating existing solutions and making recommendations for improvement to add to organisational productivity and efficiency. The role will also be responsible for the technical delivery of business applications projects and initiatives, ensuring that projects are delivered successfully into the business and new product is well integrated into the overall technical architecture. The role will play a key role in assisting the business to extract and evaluate data to improve process and efficiency, particularly in the use of systems.
You'll:
- Work with other IT stakeholders to identify areas for improvements and enhancements to systems;
- Work with the BS & IT and business teams to assist in preparing feasibility studies and business cases to confirm proposed technology solutions;
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document functional, non-functional and technical requirements for technology-related projects;
- Develop technical design and system architecture diagrams for new and existing solutions and in conjunction with the Technical Operations team, ensuring seamless integration of new solutions;
- Develop, execute and manage comprehensive test plans to confirm functionality and performance of new solutions;
- Work with business stakeholders to determine their data and reporting requirements and provide assistance with data analytics to support those requirements;
- Be available to the Business Solutions team to assist in defining and managing technology-related projects as required; and
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of systems, processes and procedures and provide training and support to end users on technology solutions when required.
Your Experience and Career Background:
You'll ideally have:
- Minimum of three years' experience in a similar Business Analyst, System Analyst or Data Analyst role (exposure to the not-for-profit industry is desirable however all industry backgrounds are encouraged to apply);
- Experience with delivering technology projects in particular as they relate to enterprise-wide initiatives;
- Familiarity with analytical tools and concepts, such as SQL, SSAS and other BI Tools;
- Knowledge of data governance concepts as they impact analytics (e.g. managing data quality);
- Good understanding of project methodologies and understanding of software tools, databases and design;
- Strong written and analytical skills to produce business cases and project proposals, as well as prepare presentations and reports for senior executive stakeholders;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organisation;
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience; and
- Above all else, you will have a humble, kind, friendly and trustworthy personality, with excellent listening skills.
