About the role:
This position is responsible for overseeing the community interaction with transformative technologies as part of the library services’ community learning programs. You will be managing the day-to-day operations of The Lab at Five Dock (Mondays) and The Learning Space, Rhodes (Thursdays).
Key tasks include:
- Overseeing the implementation of The Lab, including planning and reflecting on Lab sessions, incorporating feedback for continuous improvement.
- Supervising safety standards, inclusion, and administration aspects of The Lab.
- Monitoring participant engagement and well-being, whilst initiating positive, fun and inclusive technological activities.
- Establishing strong personal connections and professional relationships with participants to promote a welcoming atmosphere.
- Managing expectations and addressing inquiries, whilst maintaining open and effective communication.
Position Details:
- Hours: 8 hours per week
- Duration: 12 months
- Working Days: Monday and Thursday afternoons
- Shift Options: 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
About the person:
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Previous experience in IT, teaching, training, digital media, or related fields to 3D modelling, coding and electronics.
- A tertiary qualification in information technology, graphic design, music production, community development, education, or a relevant field.
- Leadership skills to guide a team and engage participants in both technical and social aspects.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver learning workshops for diverse people.
- Effective communication skills to interact with the community.
- Demonstrated experience in software applications and IT hardware maintenance.
