And these essential service activities are supported by a range of innovative products and services delivered through our Yurika brand.Now is the time - put that spark in your career!Energy Queensland has a permanent opportunity for a Telecommunications Design Paraprofessional to be located at Brisbane (Newstead), Cairns, Mackay, Maryborough, Toowoomba or Townsville and are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates. About your new role:The Telecommunications Design Team deliver a diverse range of engineering activities associated with the design and development of Telecommunication Assets critical to the operation of the energy network, through the application of highly developed engineering capability. As the successful candidate your duties and responsibilities will include the following:• Deliver design with support during construction and commissioning. Peer checking and preparation of estimates for assigned projects. Completed to agreed scope, on time, within budget, and in accordance with the design framework, standards and accepted practices, and in accordance with the requirements of the Professional Engineers Act.• Provide technical advice, conceptual and detailed design solutions, coordinate and lead project team within design discipline. Through networking, effectively communicating and consulting with stakeholders, design teams, and constructors.• Engage with construction and operation teams in Safe Design conversations to ensure effective hazard management and coordinate design outputs. To ensure deliverables align with network access and can be effectively constructed, maintained, operated and decommissioned.Essential Selection Criteria include: • An Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or relevant equivalent qualification).• Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic (desirable).The remuneration for your new role is from $139,032 – $148,063 plus 12.75% super for a 9-day fortnight and from $157,103 - $167,311 plus 12.75% super for a 10-day fortnight. Also providing support for communication and electrical infrastructure projects, with consideration to client specifications, standards and emerging technologies.Your experience includes:• Deliver design with support during construction, drafting, design database update, commissioning planning (ITP, Hazard/outages). Peer checking and preparation of estimates for assigned projects, completed to agreed scope, on time, within budget, and in accordance with the design framework, standards and accepted practices, and in accordance with the requirements of the Professional Engineers Act.• Delivery of operational support and maintenance activities, and preparation of estimates, completed to the agreed scope, on time, within budget, and in accordance with the testing and commissioning frameworks, standards and accepted practices.• Contribute to continuous improvement of the design functions, including development of design practices, design tools and standards, with consideration to innovation, latest technology, emerging industry best practices and trends.You want to be part of the renewable energy future?
