TEMPORARY WORKS ENGINEER - Construction Formwork Industry
- Position: Full-time (Mon-Fri)
- Office Location: Derrimut, Melbourne
- Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday to Friday, no weekends!

About The Role
We are seeking a talented Temporary Works Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in designing and analysing Temporary Works across a diverse range of construction projects. You'll work closely with our sales team while under the guidance of our Engineering Manager to design innovative and cost-effective temporary structures that adhere to relevant industry safety regulations.
Duties
- Prepare detailed structural design drawings and calculations for Temporary Works in accordance with Australian Standards.
- Conduct on-site structural inspections to analysis and ensure the stability and integrity of Temporary Works.
- Liaise with customers and contractors to ensure the proper installation of Temporary Works.
- Formulate post on-site inspection reports for customers.
- Conduct feasibility design estimations.
- Provide material/equipment take off for projects.
- Adhere to relevant formwork/falsework design methods.
- AutoCAD drafting.
- Assisting operations with scheduling of equipment.
- Assisting sales team with technical queries.
- Monitor and report on design activities and provide relevant feedback to management.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Temporary Works practices within the company.
Skills & Experience
- Hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Temporary Works Engineer or Structural Engineer in a construction environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in drafting, ideally in Temporary Works design, including formwork, scaffolding, and propping.
- Proficiency with the use of AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
- Excellent understanding of relevant Australian Standards (AS) and building codes.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive and results-oriented approach to work.
- Have a passion for structural engineering, specifically Temporary Works.
- Bring a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
