Position Overview:

As the Tender Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our company by overseeing the tendering process for civil construction projects. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will be responsible for developing winning tender strategies, preparing high-quality submissions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential tender opportunities within the civil construction sector.
  • Develop comprehensive tender strategies, considering factors such as project scope, budget, timeline, and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with company stakeholders to align tender strategies with broader organizational objectives.
  • Lead the tender preparation process, coordinating with internal departments to gather necessary documentation, including technical specifications, project plans, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all tender requirements, including adherence to formatting guidelines, submission deadlines, and mandatory documentation.
  • Craft compelling tender responses that effectively highlight the company's capabilities, experience, and value proposition.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the tender process, including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with key stakeholders through clear communication, timely updates, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and contractual agreements.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for each tender opportunity, identifying potential challenges such as technical constraints, regulatory hurdles, or resource limitations.
  • Develop robust mitigation strategies to address identified risks, collaborating with internal teams to implement appropriate safeguards and contingency plans.
  • Ensure full compliance with all legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements throughout the tender process, minimizing exposure to legal or reputational risks.
  • Implement stringent quality assurance measures to uphold the highest standards of accuracy, completeness, and professionalism in all tender submissions.
  • Conduct post-tender evaluations to assess the effectiveness of tender strategies, identify areas for improvement, and capture valuable lessons learned.
  • Drive ongoing initiatives to streamline tender management processes, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  •  5 +years of experience in tender management within the construction industry (Civil construction experience is advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in tendering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
