Our Textiles & Graphic Designer drives and executes trend-focused development for The Oodie. The role is divided in to four key elements - Graphic Design, Product Development, Licensing and Quality.  We are looking for someone who has apparel textile design, specifically with yardage experience. Portfolios must be supplied along with your resume when applying.

Design:

  • Provide artistic print, graphic concepts & innovation to the team and collaborate on product directionfor our apparel range.
  • Build innovative ranges and print direction alongside the Product Manager, including licensed product.
  • Growth mindset, provide researched support to all new concepts and product innovation.
  • Research trends & competitors.
  • Design on brand commercial artwork across apparel, product and packaging.
  • Create placement prints and yardage pattern repeats.
  • Through drawing and design support product development from research and ideation through to production.
  • Create clear and standardized artwork specifications for suppliers.
  • Strong communication skills to be able to translate ideas and print requirements to suppliers and follow up with comments and feedback. 
  • Experiment with new technology and new industry trends to further benefit the team. 
  • Put together creative briefs for freelance designers, communicating ideas and provide feedback to get art to sign off stage.

Product Development:

  • Reviewing all strike off submissions to factories
  • Update the stakeholders with artwork submissions and approvals throughout the development process.
  • Responsible for managing strict critical dates ensuring timelines are met and considered throughout development stage and decision-making process. 

Licensing:

  • Oversee license design development, relationship and account management in collaboration with the Product Manager.
  • Access License portals so source brand relevant content.
  • Support the License approval process linking Product, Creative & Licensors
  • Develop packaging and labelling and ensure product suitability and relevance.

Quality:

  • Instill high level of quality standards and procedures amongst team and supply base.
  • Oversee print execution ensuring Oodie standards are met and maintained throughout the development and sampling stages.
  • Risk assessment on all new products ahead of production.
