Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop and socialise in the river city.The Event Services Assistant role reports directly to the Director or Events and offers an extraordinary opportunity to coordinate all services for conventions, banquets, corporate meetings and incentive groups by supporting the Events team. This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your skills and knowledge to the test to deliver a thrilling new era for events.A few of your responsibilities:Invoicing, processing payments and management of debtor accountsGeneral event administration & financeCreating and loading event signages on digital screens across the property.Prepare confidential documents for company presentations and discussions, collect data, and compile ad-hoc and monthly reports for key stakeholders.Responsible for the coordinated bookings for events The Star Brisbane organises, including ticket sales, floor plans, guest liaison and organising any special requirements.Provide administrative assistance and support to the Director of Events.What we will be looking forPrevious and relevant experience or qualification in administrative functions and office practices.Experience in Hospitality, Food and Beverage is highly desirable.Relevant experience in providing high level administrative support.A high standard of personal and professional presentationProven skills in using Microsoft office programmes, word, spreadsheets and presentation software packages.About youYou will bring previous experience performing administrative tasks in the hospitality industry. You will have demonstrated experience displaying strong communication skills and have a passion for the events industry.
