Theatre Operations Manager

• HEO 7 Base Salary $108,557 - $118,267 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunityThe Theatre Operations Manager provides operational management and high-level technical support for the complex of the (SCM). This role will be responsible for the maintenance of the integrity of the building as a music education and performance facility utilising effective operational and administrative systems to meet these requirements in alignment with University policies and practicesBased primarily at Camperdown campus, the role will from time to time be required to work at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Macquarie St campus or other sites as required.Your key responsibilities will be to:

• manage the delivery of administration activities and services, providing guidance to colleagues on the ongoing activities of the theatre, ensuring high quality, efficient administrative support is provided in a pro-active manner to staff, students, clients and visitors
• oversee day to day operations in the Footbridge Theatre and related spaces for SCM classes and rehearsals
• oversee the operations of large scale music and theatre events ensuring appropriate resourcing including working with other SCM teams including Front of House and Box Office
• provide effective leadership and guidance to staff including feedback, training and support for individual performance, career and talent development
• ensures SCM productions are complaint with Workplace Health and Safety requirements.

The position requires flexible working hours with regular evening and weekend work and is responsible for providing a range of logistical and professional support to ensure the smooth and safe running of rehearsals, productions and special events.About you

• previous experience providing management support for theatre, contemporary music and events
• expert level knowledge of theatre management and associated industry standards
• sound working understanding and current knowledge of relevant aspects of the Workplace Health and Safety Policy and Procedures and relevant legislation including university safety standards and guidelines
• demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work, with competing priorities and limited supervision
• ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters.
