Therapy Assistant – Client Advisor in Assistive Technology
The assistive technology sector is growing quickly as the NDIS increases its support for those with disabilities and baby boomers enter their senior years. The Mobility Store seeks a Therapy Assistant or person with equivalent healthcare experience who has a genuine interest in people, is a team player and exhibits excellent personal attributes.
This is an opportunity for those with an interest in assistive technology to play an important role in our Melbourne team, liaising with clients, OT’s and other healthcare professionals.
The Mobility Store is a client-focused and family-owned supplier of assistive technology with two of Australia’s largest showrooms in Melbourne and Perth. You will be a key member of an energetic Melbourne team focussed on introducing new levels of professional service to clients and health professionals.
It will be an interesting and varied role working closely with clients, health professionals and care organisations whilst at the same time striving to ensure that our knowledge and quality of service is industry-leading.
Ideally you should have extensive experience with assistive technology and have a good working knowledge of the NDIS and homecare sectors. This is an opportunity to be involved in shaping and creating something special.
It may appeal to an experienced Therapy Assistant seeking a change of role whilst still utilising their knowledge and enjoying close client and professional relationships.

The position is permanent but could have some flexibility with working hours and days, whilst encompassing 4-5 days per week and 30-38 hours which may include some agreed Saturdays.
What you’ll be doing:
- Liaising and advising clients who visit our Blackburn showroom (or in-home when their OT requests a home trial)
- Working closely with OT’s and other health professionals and supporting their prescribing of assistive technology
- Liaising with external organisations in the NDIS and homecare space
- Communicating helpful and/or new assistive technology concepts to OTs
- Feedback on ranging of new and existing assistive technology
- In-store and in-home client and healthcare professional liaison, including product trials
- Assisting clients and healthcare professionals in product selection
- Building relationships with our stakeholders
- Assisting with training our team

The position is based at our Melbourne branch located in Blackburn with occasional metro-Melbourne travel.
