Toolmaker

• Full time, permanent position
• Mon- Friday, 6AM- 2PM, some flexibility
• Hourly rate - $46-$49 p/h
• Must be PR or Citizen

The roleOur client, a well-known packaging manufacturing, is looking for a Toolmaker to join their team. Reporting to the Tooling Manager, you will be responsible in assisting with maintaining the plant's tooling requirements, evaluating tooling improvements, assisting in implementation methods and implementation processes. You will be working on various tooling projects ad working closely with the production team.Responsibilities:

• Breakdown repairs of tooling
• Preventative maintenance of tooling
• Ensure that tooling is properly maintained within manufacturing and engineering standards.
• Operate conventional machines: lathes, milling, drilling, grinding and other machines as used in the process of manufacturing tooling
• Provide suggestions for tooling improvements
• Investigate product, equipment, and process failure
• Maintain up-to-date workshop drawings for the manufacture of tooling replacement and spares
• Assist with tooling modifications, as required
• Evaluate safety issues in relation to all tooling requirements
• Participate in all safety and quality programs
• Continuous improvement of skills to achieve the highest level of quality
• Work across multiple departments
• Measuring skills to be at a high level to suit the process of manufacturing
• Perform any other duties as required by the Toolroom Manager to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the manufacturing facilities

Experience:

• Trade qualifications with a Certificate in Tool Making (Press Tooling - preferred) / Fitter and Turner
• Extensive knowledge of press tooling, processes, and technologies
• Extensive knowledge in the design of press and forming tooling
• Good use and understanding of computer systems and programs
• Sound knowledge of engineering and production processes
• Good presentation of proposals and reports
• Excellent understanding of design interpretation - 2D & 3D
